We left yesterday around 3:00 and arrived at Grandfather Mountain campground around 6:00. My parents arrived just minutes before us. We enjoyed a dinner of left overs and then mom and dad stayed at the campground while the rest of us went up to the Grandfather Highland Games opening ceremony. My cousin Heather Parcell and her family along with my wonderful friend Sherry McCloud were already up at the games. We enjoyed catching up and watching the torchlight ceremony.
This morning we were not in a rush since it was pouring rain. Finally around 10:00 when the rain stopped we took the handicap bus up with mom and dad and enjoyed meat pies, fish and chips, and Bridies along with shopping at all the vendor tents. We found the clan Scott tent and enjoyed speaking with the hosts Tom. We stayed until 5:00 then headed down to eat dinner we had put in the crockpot.
Around 7:30 we headed back up with our car to enjoy the Celtic rock band 7 Nations and Rathkelter.
