Wednesday, April 8 2020 Day 23

Day 3 of spring break doing nothing.  I always loved spring break because I always plan fun trips. Planning has gone out the window.  I just don’t get it.  I don’t know anyone who is sick and 98% get well and the majority of people that are getting sick are old, have health issues or compromised.  So why is everything being shut down. Why didn’t we shut down for the swine flu or other threatening diseases. This is going to lead to a depression!!!
So... at least today I am at the lake and can enjoy the waterfall.

I walked the RV park 1.6 miles and am reading a book.  I guess this is as good as it gets right now.

Tuesday, April 7, 2020 corona virus day 22

Woke up today really feeling down. Another day like the last.  Ate breakfast and didn’t really want to work out but hopped on the elliptical then finished up with a mile walk.  I know there are things I could or should do around the house but I have no motivation.
Around 1:30 the boys and I headed to the lake. It was a beautiful day in the high 80s.  I sat on the covered deck and read one of the SC nominees for a good two hours while all the boys played their video games.  I really don’t see why how they can spend hours on those devices but it is spring break and that is what they enjoy.  Seth and Cayson has a blast playing Minecraft together.
Dinner was spaghetti and meatballs and then Sandy and I took the dogs for a short walk. The lake looks beautiful. Another day down!  The days seems to go pretty fast but then again my day is starting around 8:30 now, not 5:00am.

This is not our boat but hoping we can figure out how to get our boat in here with how shallow it is since this boat’s hull is a similar size.
Everyone in the state got this message today on our phones.

Monday, April 6, 2020 Day 22 of Quarantine

So I decided I am going to start today writing about the Corona-virus 19 Quarantine.  Cayson and I were at the RV show Sunday, March 15 when we heard the announcement that schools were shutting down to combat the virus. Up until this time life was pretty normal.  Monday the 16 all the teachers went in to school in a daze trying to get materials ready for what they said would be a few weeks. It was suppose to last until March 31. Students started elearning on Tuesday, March 17.
As a librarian my task would be to call 3 different classes of students and check in with them at least once a week. I also helped create a choice board for related arts with activities students could choose from.  That was 22 days ago.  I am so over this!  Lucky for me my cousin Sandy and her son Seth came down from Maine on Friday, March 20th. They are staying in the camper and we are going back and forth between our house and the camper  She also brought her 3 cute dogs, Aubrey, Aiden and Rover.  The day she arrived I had started a project mulching the front yard.
That weekend it was beautiful out--- in the 80's so we took our "new to us" boat out for the first time.

We have spent the last two weeks e-learing, baking, and cleaning.

Which brings me to... today.  This past weekend Sandy and the boys all helped take down bushes and trees in the back yard, we fixed the deck step, replaced one sink stopper and did several other small house repairs.  Yesterday we did drive in church and lunch take out at FATZ so today I worked out, took the tree branches to the dump, sprayed the poison ivy in the back yard and took several walks.  I feel like I have no real purpose and every time we turn around they are closing more stores and putting all citizens on more restrictions.  When will this madness end?

Day 12 6/23/19 Dover, England

Today we stopped in Dover England and had a tour planned. When we docked we could see the White Cliffs of Dover which was beautiful.  We were off the boat after breakfast around 9:30 and took a bus tour. Our first stop was Canterbury Cathedral.  We paid to get in but unfortunately because it was Sunday we could not see the actual sanctuary because they were having church.  There was also construction going on.
Our second stop was Leeds Castle. We had a self guided tour of the castle and the grounds. There was so much to see!  We walked to the little restaurant near the castle for  lunch and then headed back to the bus. We had to be back and aboard by 3:30.   We had a delicious dinner and at 7:00 attended the Farewell Show in the Rene Luden Pacifica Theater. Tomorrow morning we dock and get off the ship back to reality.

Day 11 6/22/19 Day at Sea

Today was a day at sea.  We enjoyed breakfast in the dinning room and working out in the gym.  It was way to cold to swim but had movies showing and all kinds of activities.  The Headliner show was Emperors of Soul.  We enjoyed a great dinner in the dinning room with the 50th celebration of Royal Caribbean.

Day 10 6/21/19 Cork (Cobh) Ireland

We were up early, at breakfast in the dinning room and headed off on a train ride into Cork. Our fist stop was Saint Fin Barre's Cathedral. We walked all over the town and saw the Lusitania Peace Memorial, several Cathedrals, a museum and at lunch of fish and chips at the Fish Wife. After our train ride back we saw the funniest row of colored houses, and stopped in the Titanic shop.   Once we got back on the ship we had made arrangements to take a sushi marking class in Izumi Restaurant. It was a lot of fun and delicious.
