Day 15: Redwood Forest

July 2
Up and at um by 8:00 with a very windy drive ahead. I took the first shift and we decided to cross country it until we met up with Hwy 101 about 35 miles away. The roads were treacherous with lots of curves.  The best part of the drive was going through the redwood forest.

This is me standing under these massive trees.  I look puny next to them.

The boys were amazed by how tall these trees were. Shortly after exiting the Redwood Forest we came to our campground, Camper Corral.

The campground had a great barn filled with a TV, pool table, ping pong and old Atari games.  In the evening they had a community fire so we were able to roast marshmallow. This is the first time we had to wear our coats. It is pretty cold here compared to the 100 degree weather we left a few days ago.

Tomorrow we have a 3 hour drive to Coquille to meet up with some family friends and I will get to meet with a Carla, a good friend and media specialist in my district who happenes to be staying only 30 minutes from Coquille this summer.  I am looking forward to the visit!
