Day 24: Drive to South Dakota

July 11:
Today was deemed as the longest drive day so we got up and on the road by 8:00. It was not a fun task considering it was 37 degrees outside.
The drive out the east end of Yellowstone was crazy twisty.  There were so many switch backs I wasn't sure whether I was coming or going.  I will say that Wyoming may now be one of my favorite states to view. The beauty was breathtaking.

The pictures really do not do the beauty justice. At lunch we stopped for good old McDonalds. Unfortunately we had a small detour because a car had flipped on the on ramp. We all said a prayer that the people inside were alright.
We arrived at Crooked Creek RV Resort at 6:30 pm. The boys headed straight for the pool after helping set up. I set off to do laundry while mom started cheeseburgers and potatoes.

Tomorrow we have a short drive to Mount Rushmore, Devil's Tower and Black Hills National Forest.
