Day 17: Seattle, Washington

July 4
Up and on the road by 7:50 which was important since we have at least a 6 1/2 hour drive ahead of us. We drove along the coast on side roads for the first 40 miles and got to see elk.

Once we got to Interstate 5 it was a pretty straight shot. We did have to make one side stop at Voodoo Doughnuts in Eugene, Oregon on a recommendation from Carla Nash.  I have never seen so many different kinds of doughnuts.

Unfortunately there were a ton of homeless in the city as well. Once we left Eugene it took another 3 hours and we made it to Dashpoint State Park. My brother and his wife met us at our camp ground.
We enjoyed delicious pizza and then headed over to Dash Point beach.
The beach was very small and full of seaweed so we didn't stay long.
Since it was the 4th of July we really wanted to see fireworks.
We headed to Celebration Park near Tacoma, Washington. They were having a fireworks display at 10:00pm and of course tons of food including dipped ice cream bars we just had to eat.

Jared decided he was cold and tried to put Cayson's jacket on. What a fun evening.
I am so excited tomorrow that we don't have to go anywhere!
